Berks Immunization Coalition
Coverage Area: Berks County
The mission of the Berks Immunization Coalition is to promote and educate about recommended immunizations for all Berks County residents across the lifespan to ensure that no one in the county should suffer from a vaccine-preventable disease.
Goals
This is a coalition comprised of local physicians, nurse practitioners, school nurses, immunization coordinators, immunization advocates, and pharmaceutical representatives working to achieve the following objectives:
- Promote and ensure access to immunizations throughout the lifespan.
- Educate the community and the providers.
- Endorse 2030 Healthy People National Objectives for Immunizations.

Latest Campaign
Promoting GetAnswersPA.org
Partnering with Gateway Outdoor Advertising, our past campaign aimed to encourage vaccination with positivity and information. The campaign ran from April 2024 to June 2024 and featured 3 decals in Spanish and 3 in English that addressed common questions and promoted a positive mindset towards vaccination. We collaborated with Outright Media to design graphics inspired by PAIC’s statewide campaign, which directed people to the microsite getanswerspa.org. Posters were strategically placed at 25 key locations across the County, including bodegas, gas stations, and grocery stores.

Calendar of Events
Rain or shine, we are representing our immunization coalition! Shoutout to Peggy and Jenna for attending the Out in the Park event hosted by the LGBT Center of Greater Reading last Saturday!
Volunteer Opportunities
One of the coalition goals is to increase community outreach, partner with different organizations, and educate vulnerable populations. We need the help of volunteers and coalition members to help make this happen!

Ongoing Projects
Distributing Vaccine Education Books to Schools
BIC distributed over 100 vaccine education books to schools within the county based on age appropriateness. These books will educate individuals on the importance of vaccines and how they work to protect us. We distributed “The Vicious Case of the Viral Vaccine” (geared towards elementary/middle school) and “Vaccination Investigation/The History of Vaccines” (geared towards high school).
HPV Dental Campaign
Dental kits that include informational HPV brochures, toothbrushes, and other resources have been made for distribution to patients of different organizations and individuals within the county.
Introducing Our Comprehensive Immunization Guide!
This guide is a one-stop resource designed to empower parents with accurate, up-to-date information on vaccinations. From understanding the importance of early immunization to demystifying vaccine schedules. Written in a clear and accessible format, this guide equips you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your child’s health.
